N.E.S. Inc.'s design team re-oriented the existing activities to provide more appropriate settings for large group gatherings, outdoor church services, active play space, and quiet contemplative areas. The plants were selected for their inherent xeriscape principles and symbolic meaning, enhancing the garden experience through the use of color, texture and form. The garden addresses the local winter weather concerns, accessibility for the aging parishioners, and the placement of a Columbarium Garden that allows for both quiet reflection and dedication ceremonies.
